Hi, this is edwin. I bloging about the giver, the first chapter was very good, i like the way they opened the book small and then got bigger.

My ideas for a perfect community is having it being clean with no trash or graphite anywhere. Another idea is having laws against pollution because the less pollution the more years until global warming. One other idea I have is having morerangers in the forests keeping watch for pochers. The less animals the less reasearch and the less reasearch the less chance of discovering knew things.

I was given many comments about this book from others who rerad it already.
Think that the community they have is too perfect and no one in the world can be perfect.
I think a perfect community is that there is world peace,caring,harmony,loving in others and acting to others.Sometimes I think families are already a perfect community.
If lived in a controlled community I would feel realy sad and very confused in many ways and get really angry with the rules and what they do to poor babies that are sick and people who disobey the rules.
No one controls your life cause remember you live your life as you want to make it.
I think treating the elders in a perfect community is kinda freaky cause you’ll feel as if they are the lords of your lives,but in my community we treat our elders nicely but not like lords of the world.

If I lived in a controlled community like Jonas, I would be so upset. I would hate it! I don’t want my life to be controlled by the community, or by other people. I want to live my own life! I want to choose what it would be like or what my job will be or who my friends will be!

I think the whole community rules, in the Giver, are just so assigned for people to be perfect. It is like the community expects everybody to be perfect in everything that they do that they loose track of themselves. They are just like souless dolls walking in the community. I don’t like a chosen life because you never get a chance to speak. I don’t think this is fair at all. This is because people can’t just choose your life for you. We run our own lives and we are the ones who make the choices even though they are wrong. This is just the way life is supposed to be. That is what I think.

If I lived in a controlled commmunity, I would run away. Trust me, it is not fun to live in a place where others decide your future. You have no choices……no freedom. It’s like you’re a robot, doing everything that you’re told. You have no feelings for others and even for yourself. There is no love in the community. Life is unbearable there. Though there is no war and other conflicts that are in our world, once you fully understand the situation you are in, you’ll suffer a lot.

If I lived in the same community as Jonas, well… I wouldn’t know what the other worlds are~ So… well, I guess I wouldn’t feel anything against it. But if I knew the world outside, or more like our world, I would be super scared and all that emotional stuff because there is so much more emotions out of the world Jonas lives in, so probably I would apply for release. I would be desperate, I guess… not only desperate but, in a big rush and I would have all these emotions mooshed together that I wouldn’t know what to do.
That’s how I feel…

If I lived in a controlled community like Jonas, I would feel like the community is a regular community, because people there don’t know that the community has put weather control and all sorts of weird stuff to their life style. It has become a normal habit to do what people do there and if I lived there like a normal citizen, I would feel like that was the only world because I would have no recollection of this Earth and I would only know what the community has told the people. I wouldn’t know what animals were and I wouldn’t really care if I were in the community because no one but the Giver knew about animals and if I knew, they wouldn’t even allow me to bring one in from outside of the community. I wouldn’t do anything but live my life out if I were in a controlled community like Jonas’s. I’m only a child and if I were to attempt to rebel against the elders that they have made the wrong choice of taking away the color that was once visible to everyone’s eyes, I would be punnished and maybe even released. I wouldn’t be able to help the people who can’t see color. I can just live my life the way it is in the community. Not much more can go wrong…
Now on the other hand, if I knew that there was a better life without being controlled or stuff like that, I would try to run away, or go somewhere else. I wouldn’t want to be controlled. I would run away… not to another community, but to somewhere that I could be free from the controlled life. I would want to run away if I knew that there were better lives out there without being controlled

In the Giver, the community is perfect.
My ideas of a perfect community would be when every body is mostly always happy, and there is mostly no robbing, hitting(violently), or shooting, and etc. One thing to me that is not so perfect in Jonas’s community, is that every thing is in black and white. I think that people should talk about things that they are having trouble with so the community, or someone with him could cotroll and fix it. Well every body would be punished if they did something wrong, but to me, unlike the Giver, I think that they shouldn’t get realesed. I understand that it wouldn’t be a perfect community if they don’t punish them. They should actually try to controll and fix it. My other ideas of a perfect community would be that they don’t have to choose anything, but the community does, just like the Giver. I think that an original community, would be even better than perfect community.Anyways, I think that a perfect community would also be like when you don’t have to do any work, like after you eat something, just like the book. To me, I think that a perfect community, would be very creepy, yet awesome
