Honor mean to have to do something that is very hard (usually requiring staying up late night) and that is hard to get picked for, like going into NASA. They only pick, I think 100, people a year to go into their space camp. THis would be considered an honorable job (to me at least).

Power would be like being in charge of a lot of epople, and being to do practically anything you want to do, not being bossed around by other person, and can order anyhing form his people. He/she with the power can decide to be communtist, democratic, or any other type of party their is in the world.

If I was chosen to be the Giver, then I would be honored, but I would be upset because I would have such a lonley life, in the shadows, even though I would be able to get answers to everything and be able to ask anything of people.

The reciever is improtant to the communoty because without him, all the memories, bad and good, would be let out to the people, and they would go crazy because of all the pain and suffering in the memories. The would go crazy because they have never experienced anything in the memories before.

3. Chapter 15 is the shortest chapter in the book but may be the most powerful experience for both Jonas and you, the reader. Comment on what happens in this chapter and your reaction to it.

I will answer the 3rd question.

Chapter 15 is so short but it was devastating cause I never understood the concept of war and Now I do. I understand that war won't solve any problems but increase more to the citizens because they have to sacriface a lot if their son/husband/brother volunteers for war or the boy died in war. I read in Because of Winn Dixie, which recently appeared in the movies but I don't think it was on GUam, a librarian who Opal (main character) made friends with, as she was telling a true story about her great-grandfather, she came to say that war was hell. I don't doubt that because war meant sacrifacing a lot of things including -family
                          -body
                          - your life
                           -home

If I was the Reciever,I would be really lonely and sad because I will be the only one who would get to experience all the memories good or bad or even get pain when I see bad memories. I choose #2,
The community needs the reciever because the reciever holds all of the memories for the community and recieves all of the memories. It may be an honorable job and sometimes be very important when trouble is in hand. I dson't want to just stay in a empty room because I would be unfair because I can't see anyone or speak to anyone and all I want to do is be with my friends and family. If I could change the community I would and my changes would be everything. I'm tired of Elders of choosing their community's life , It's not fair. The elders are unfair and dishonorable because they get treated the best even though others have lives to not just to take care of the elders and they can try to take care of themselves. If I had another job it would be the rule maker (if it was really a job which it isn't) :) ! People are supposed to be treated equally not just one person. Others have feeling but they can't show it because of the stirrings. If isn't fair for a community because they fear of being released or killed for just a misunderstanding or accident . The punishments are to harsh and they can't make a living because the elders are on thier back and the people start to have pain cause of them but the elders don't do anything to help their community

If I had to live in Jonas's community, I think that we WOULD need a receiver because how would you live in a community without any color?! It would be so boring and boring and B-O-R-I-N-G!! You need the receiver because... a world without colors. oh boy would it be boring! The receiver can transver things to you. you RECEIVE them so you can get colors, what and how the REAL world looks like. Thats it for now. Bye!!!!

2. The life of the Receiver is very lonely. Why does the commuity need a Receiver? How would you feel if you were chosen to be the receiver?

I choose #2,
The community needs the reciever because the reciever holds all of the memories for the community and recieves all of the memories. If I were to be the choosen as the reciever I would like it because it's a very honorable job but also at the same time not like it because I wouldn't be able to discuss how my new job is, whats its like, and what we do. I would'nt want to straight to the annex and come straight back home. I would at least want to go and hang out with my friends and do other things.

Question 3:
I think that it really made me feel horrible and disgusted, the way she desribed the way the soilders begged for their mothers and death, ewit mad me feel so sick. I alsothought the way she describe the boy dieing it really felt like I was there. It really just made me feel like I was really there expierencing that boys death and the war, I know that I would never ever go to war.
