#2:
I think Jonan feels comfortable around him because he gave Gabe memories and they both have light eyes. That means they are the same and Gabe might be the next receiver. I guess Gabriel is the only person that Jonas can talk about memories with since none of the people understand true feelings and they don’t understand it too.
He is affecting Gabriel by giving him memories even though it is not allowed. I think Jonas couldn’t stand being lonely and since he gave the memories to Gabe, he must’ve felt a little better because now he had someone to talk to. Gabriel might soon have true memories like color.

2. What impact is baby Gabriel having on Jonas? How is Jonas affecting Gabriel?
I’ll answer question two.
Jonas is giving pleasurable memories to Gabe. (or Gay/Gabriel) Though he isn’t suppose to, he does it anyways because that will let Gabe to sleep well at night. Jonas is giving Gabe something that he will never see because the community is so perfect and does not allow any color, books, and a lot more. And so much rules!!!! I hate rules!!!! They aren’t efficient to a creative admosphere.

I will be doing number 1.
Jonas experienced love when he got the memory of Christmas. He felt love, joy, and happiness in the memory. Since Jonas experience love in the dream and parents were also sharing the love in the dream, Jonas wanted to see if his mother loved him as well. He wanted to see if she actually loved him…but he was saddened
when she and his father had said that they didn’t love him. Actually, they didn’t say in those exact words, but they meant it that way because they said that love was obsolete and that “love” was not a proper word to use. Jonas’s parents said that ‘Do you enjoy me?’ would be a more proper statement and the answer would of course be yes. Jonas had lied to his parents about saying that he understood that ‘love’ was the wrong word to use and that he was sorry. Jonas really felt sad that his mother and father didn’t really love him.
I think that really made Jonas sad. He had known his ‘parents’ for his whole life and now once he learned the meaning of love, he was ‘rejected’ his parents. I understand though that it would be inappropriate because his ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ had not bore him. (Given birth to him). The community also took away all the ‘wantings’ so that there practically could not be any love in the society. Jonas must have really been hurt, hearing that they only could enjoy and appreciate him. There was no love in the community and Jonas knew that, though he felt that it was a wrong choice for the community to go into Sameness.
Jonas really felt love in the memory. He really felt touched that love existed. He wanted to find out if there was any love in the community, but sadly, he didn’t find what he wanted. ;(

Well, because of Jonas, Gabriel is not cryingof is not restless anymore in his sleep. Gabriel is also developing better because of Jonas. Jonas also gave Gabriel pleasurable memories of color, and beaches, and a few other relaxing memories. This helped him because he knows what color is from that, which he might never see in his whole life.
Gabriel also affected Jonas by giving him love, friendship, and emotional warmth. He also affected Jonas because he had to give alot of memories away to Gabe to help them survive; he gave Gabe memories of warmth, freezing, relaxation, all those things.

1. Discuss Jonas’s reaction to the experience of love (pages 125-126) AND WHAT HAPPENED WHEN HE ASKED HIS PARENTS ABOUT LOVE.
Jonas’s reaction to love was warmth, happiness, and family. If I was in the situation I would of felt extreme happiness unlike anything I’ve felt before. Later when Jonas got home he asked his parents “do you love me” but his parents shunned that word and said That we don’t use such a generalized word that it has become obsolete. Well if I was in that situation I would just ask my trainer the next day.

I guess I will choose #3.
This chapter is when Asher and some of his other friends, like Fiona, were playing a game of war (it was fake). He was really surprised, but after a while, he understood this situation. At first, he didn’t really care about them playing the game, but then he remembered the blank expression on the young and dying soldier’s face in the terrible memory. While they played, pretending to shoot and die, he went away, full of sadness. The others said that he ruined the game, and he tried to explain to them why they shouldn’t play it, but he knew they wouldn’t understand it without having the memories.
He was really sad, and I kind of felt like he had lost some friends. I myself probably had the same feelings as Jonas while reading this chapter. He was really certain that his friends would never comprehend his feelings at that time without having access to the memories.

i Will answer number 2.
Jonas is giving good memories to gabe. It is like he(Gabe) is the only one that can recieve memories from Jonas. Its like People with pale eyes are the ones that can always be a receiver. Iwish I had pale eyes… Even though JOnas isnt supposed to give anybody the memories, he does it anyways because that will let Gabe to sleep well at night.

I shall do # 3.
In this chapter, Asher with Fiona and other friends were playing a fake game of war. He started to realize that this situation is very depressing, because first he knew that this was just a game, but he started to think back the American Civil War with all those soldiers dying, in pain and wanting water, with their mother. He was super depressed, and almost about to cry, but that is not a bad thing because I would cry if I was in his position.
I think that Asher was kind of harsh on him when he said that he not to play the game. He said that he couldn’t tell him what to do because this was his ~~~ “job”. I think that Asher just doesn’t know his feelings. In this time, Jonas is in a very difficult position, where he has to learn a lot of things. Jonas needs some companionship so he doesn’t get more depressed, because he might commit suicide like the river. Like the story Asher told him.

Hi Mrs.alvia ,I would choose #2 because Jonas is very kind and sometimes a giving person.Like for an example he gave good memories to gabe.I guess its kool when people have the beauty of the eye sight of color and lso few have that vision.Color canbe really beautiful.I think Jonan feels comfortable around him because he gave Gabe memories and they both have light eyes. That means they are the same and Gabe might be the next receiver. I guess Gabriel is the only person that Jonas can talk about memories. Jonas is very very calm with gabe and its very amazin how they can connect with each other but not with many others and I feel that jonas may give up his life for him because they we’re going ot release him because he has a problem for sleeping or has trouble sleeping.I love this chapter when The giver give him memories of love!

num. 2:
I agree with Clarissa that Jonas** feels comfortable around Gabe b/c they have much that is similar between them. I also disagree with the statement Gabriel may be the next receiver b/c you aren’t chosen/ selected just because of your eyes… you have to, I don’t know, the elders choose you… But I also think, agree with Clarissa that he is affecting Gabe with the memories and that he’s doing it when he’s not supposed to. I am not sure if it was a good decision of Jonas’s to share the good memories with little Gabe. But I do know that it made Jonas feel better and Gabe feel comfier. Also that now Jonas giving a good memory is a routine, Gabe is sort of interdependent so that also makes me think about if it’s actually a good decision or not.
**Good night~!!

Choose #2
What impact is baby Gabriel having on Jonas? How is Jonas affecting Gabriel?
The impact baby Gabriel is having on Jonas is because they have many things in common. Such as both having light eyes. I think Jonas thinks theressomething special about baby Gabriel.
Jonas is affecting Gabriel by giving him memories of happiness wich is against the rules. I think Jonas did this to make Gabriel feel better.

I think Gabe feels comfortable around Jonas because he takes care of him and he transmits good memories to gabe. He is loving Jonas as a father or a big brother because he is the best taker carer of Gabe
